Turkey Trotting as a Family

The twins are getting to the age where being with their parents is becoming less and less important. So, when the twins and Ivy have something to do as a family, I listen to their idea. This time I didn’t listen. When you have a set of boy/girl twins that are as different as night and day, you are constantly mediating and “fixing” problems. It is a better plan to pretend you can’t hear or simply not listen to anything. Recently Ivy said to me, “The twins and I are going to run in the “Turkey Trot” on Thanksgiving morning. Grandma said she will come; do you want to do it with us?” I was doing that “I can’t really hear you” thing. I said, “I guess I can come, if Grandma is”. Ivy turned

Eight Thanksgivings

November is here; 2017 is rapidly coming to a close. Your Daily Fiber is celebrating its eighth year in business. Stop by and congratulate Ivy or any Sipes, for that matter. I recently read in the local paper that sales in town are down 3.8% citywide. Thankfully, Your Daily Fiber has fared better than that. At least, I wasn't grabbing sweaty, stinky guys. Boy Twin doesn't mind grabbing sweaty, stinky guys. After h

Looks like it's going to be a gloomy day. It's snowing at our house. Elaine wants to go for a car ride later today. From the looks of things, that's not going to happen. Today we turn the clocks back to standard time. No one told the dogs. Walter (Great Dane/Pitbull mix) was downstairs squeaking and crying at the door. This "terrifying" pitbull mix was crying like a baby because no one (including me) wanted to get out of bed to let him out. Walter decided to change his tactics. I also changed mine. Walter started barking and scratching at the door. I rolled over and put the pillow over my ears. Walter's (and mine) change in tactics worked. I heard one of the kids open the door and
