Turn the Lights on

If a person has pets, the lessons never stop coming. As a child, Elaine was never without dogs in her house. As a point of interest, when I met Elaine her family had four dogs, Schwartz, Lizzie, Liesel, and PJ. My family gave away the family dog when they moved to town from the farm. (I was four years old.) My parents lived dog free until I was in seventh grade when they brought Cherie home, a chocolate brown miniature poodle, with the personality of an alligator fighting a Grizzley' bear for the last scrap of food.

Cherie a chocolate brown miniature poodle was my mom's dog. I would be safe to say Cherie hated everyone else. Having Cherie shaped my love/hate for dogs that I carry to this day. Elaine loves dogs and needs to own at least one. Me? I need Elaine so I guess I need a dog. I did really enjoy when Cherie bit my friend Rick on the rear as he ran up the stairs. It wouldn't have been so funny, but my mom had to get Cherie to let go. That was a great day!

Elaine/I now have two dogs, Goose (all black) and Gordon (black with white spots). For some reason I cannot explain Goose is NEVER more than a few feet from me. That little habit of his almost cost me big last night. Last night I thought it would be a good idea to use the rest room. As happens most nights, I didn't turn on the lights as to not wake Elaine. Goose was lurking in the dark a couple feet from my bed. This normally wouldn't be a problem except for this time decided to lead me to the restroom instead of follow. He tripped me. I slammed against the closet door blooding my nose. Elaine is now awake and screaming. Goose has invited Gordon to try to help me up. I'm lying on the floor wondering why I have dogs in the first place.

Turn the lights on, Monner. You are going to wake Elaine. anyway, now when I am at my next doctor's appointment, and the nurse asks if I have fallen, what do I say?

God Bless, Love ya, try to learn something daily

Our crazy lives!

What a hilarious story! Cherie definitely knew how to make her presence felt, and it sounds like those moments shaped your perspective on pets in a funny way. Stories like this remind me why I love reading about resilience and personal growth, which is why I recently picked up the Liam Learns Strength book online it’s inspiring and full of heartwarming lessons.

What a heartfelt reflection on how pets shape our lives and teach us lasting lessons about love and loyalty. Stories like this beautifully highlight the spiritual depth in everyday experiences. It reminds me of themes explored in a Christianity and quantum physics book, where ordinary moments reveal profound truths about connection, light, and unseen bonds guiding our lives.
