Boy Twin’s New Job

I remember the day, Boy Twin called and told me he quit his job.
Those are the type of decisions that I choose not to advise my children with but I admit I was a little curious as to what was his reasoning.
Boy Twin: I quit my job today.
Me: Why?
Boy Twin: I”m going to the oil fields
Me: You have/had a pretty good job, company vehicle, benefits, choose your hours ( I’m getting ready to break my no advice rule.)
Boy Twin: I’ve saved a quite a bit of money and I’m ready for a change. I have a friend whose dad is a boss on an oil rig and in a few months he can get me a job on a rig.
Me: Why?
Boy Twin: I will work fourteen days and then get fourteen days off. Do you know how much money I will be paid?
Me: I just don’t undrstand
Boy Twin: On my time off I can help you with your projects at home
I started to see the value in his idea. The oil fields job didn’t start right away so Boy Twin, true to to word helped me with projects at the house.
The oil field job didn’t start and I became Boy Twin’s employer. My projects were no longer cost effective for me, just Boy Twin.
I am happy to announce Boy Twin just this past week received notice that his oil field job Is upon us. For those of you that things prices are because of wars and such, you might be wrong. People in the oil fields get paid enough that I would like to unretire.
I”m also a winner. I don’t have to pay him to help me with my projects.
God Bless, Love ya, Drill baby, drill
