Maybe someone could tell me why retirement feels an awful lot like spring cleaning. Elaine retired a little more than a month ago. I'm not sure, maybe I'm a little impatient but, I thought we would do more 'retirement" things.

So far retirement feels an awful like spring cleaning. If disposing of the cardboard boxes that seem to be delivered twice daily to our porch is what retirement is, then I'm having a great time. I don't want to sound selfish, but I thought we would do more "fun" things. I need to stay focused on that we are cleaning together.

It is not that we aren't together We ride together to doctor's appointment, grocery stores, and the county dump. It not exactly like the cruises and vacations we planned but we are together. Truth be told, I don't want to travel to the destinations Elaine wants to go to anyway. I just can't see traveling to another country to see yarn and sheep. Not when I have cardboard to dispose of.

I believe we will get to those "golden year" things we promised each other, just as soon as the cardboard bin is empty.
