Even though the yaks are gone, there is plenty of work to do at the house. We still have poultry to feed, which brings its own challenges. My back surgeon and my wife suggest strongly that I do not lift over fifty pounds. Poultry feed comes in fifty-pound bags. What should be an easy job, turns out to be almost more than I care to do. With the help of a dolly and the occasional grandchild stopping by I can get the birds fed.
This past week was very productive and even fun. Boy Twin took time off from his work in town and came home to help me. He brought his significant other (she has a name, but you might have noticed over the years I typically don't use them in my stories, But for the story's sake I will call her Riley.) and stayed two days.
Boy Twin and Riley helped me build a new pen for the dogs, lifting the parts and pieces that were too heavy for me. I found it interesting working with them. Of course they were on a short vacation, so them getting up before noon just wasn't going to happen. They would get up late and then work until the evening.
Girl Twin came up for an evening, mostly for dinner, but I saw her doing some dusting helping Elaine out. Then all the "kids" went out to our rifle range and had some target practice, while Elaine and I finished up the dishes.
The kids were a big help, but mostly they gave me the inspiration to get started on the things I can do. They coop needs painting; areas of weeds/grass still need mowing, entertain the dogs. Goose (Blackface) wants to be next to me (within three feet) every time I go outside. Gordon (white face) prefers to have me look for him, usually at the neighbors.
I'm hoping the kids come back soon. My honey do list grows every day.
God bless, Love ya, send help
Our crazy lives!
