She's Earned It

The new year is off to a pretty good start. My doctor tells me I get my cast-off next Friday. I am looking forward to that day. For those of you thar are wondering, this cast (on my right foot) has sent me into depression. I didn't have a cast when I was a child. It wasn't that I didn't want one I just didn't need one. I waited until my senior years before I got my first cast. My senior cast is no way l like the casts my friends got in their childhoods. No one can sign my cast. My cast is hard but not smooth, no one could write anything on that textured surface, Plus over the top of my cast is a Velcro and hard plastic cage.

Being on my right foot makes driving near to impossible. It is so big that that I cannot use the accelerator pedal without pushing on the brake pedal at the same time. I did figure out how to use my left foot to operate the pedals, Elaine caught me and put a stop to that idea.

I think the best thing that will happen in 2026 is Elaine will retire from her power pole job. I'm not sure how good that will be, but it is time to call it a career.

Elaine has already planned her retirement. Her employer has reluctantly found a replacement, so we can all relax. The electric grid will continue to expand. You can still order your new electric car if you desire.

She has thrown herself into her hobbies. She will definitely keep herself busy. I find this terrifying. I don't want to provide an opinion in whether this particular blue yarn goes well with the lavender.

We've talked about traveling. I'm not really sure that will happen. Elaine does not fly. She does not like to drive. She does not like to ride with me driving. All things considered travel will be occasional at best. There will be yarn and more yarn, weaving, knitting, playing, with one of her many spinning wheels and asking me my opinion several times a day.

I can't know for sure what her retirement will bring. We received three (3) vacation/cruises for adding windows, doors and siding to our house. I'm guessing we will try to get those out of the way, and then we are going to play with yarn. Well at least one of us will.

God Bless, Love ya, retire early and often

Our crazy lives!
