Broken Promises

I didn't get the week I felt I was promised this past week. I was prepared to get the cast taken off my foot. Didn't happen! Imagine my thoughts when the doctor said, "We can take the cast off, BUT, you might benefit by keeping it another week." I don't think the doctor even cared that I haven't been able to drive myself, and worse than that, I had to let Elaine drive every time I left the house.
I would never accuse Elaine of being a bad driver, I don't think she has ever been ticketed by law enforcement. That said I think she positions the car too far on the right side of the road and it makes me nervous. I ride with my eyes closed or I just go to sleep.
But here is the good part of this story. The doctor altered my cast so I could drive my old pickup truck. I can use all of the foot pedals in my truck. I don't need Elaine to drive me to my destinations. We are both happy.......beyond words. I could have insisted we remove the cast, but really, did I have a choice?
There was a one other broken promise this past week. This one came from the television weatherman/woman. They spent the early part of the week telling their television audience not only were we going to get the first snowstorm of the winter, they told us how much snow to prepare for. We didn't get any snow.
If you are/were concerned this story was written late. I was helping Elaine with a sewing project. Sewing! Me, Monner. I will try to keep these incidents to a minimum.
God Bless, Love ya, Help your spouse
Our crazy lives!
