Warm Weather

I’m not complaining, but what’s with the weather? I have been patiently waiting for cold(er) weather that should have been here by now. Some people want to “blame” global warming. Me? I think we have paved, and roofed enough that the sun raises temperatures. Stop building apartment complexes and leave the farms and ranches alone. I’m guessing one half of the mumbling readers just quit reading.

This warm weather agrees with my acceptence of my advanced age. It seems strange I am writing my Mumbling about weather instead of the adventures of a mountain man/yak rancher. That said I am enjoying the warm weather. It doesn’t seem that it was that long ago, I would be feeding yaks in the snow. The yaks are gone and apparently so is the snow. (for now)

I am appreciative of the late winter. It gives me time to prep for winter. In the past, I could count on help from Boy Twin for my pre-winter chores. Now with him working on an oIl rig in central Wyoming, I’m on my own.

The delayed cold weather allows me more time now that I am working without Boy Twin. I think I should be very glad I sold all of the livestock last spring, although I am thinking about getting back in to livestock next spring. I need a reason to spend our money and my time on something worthwhile. ( I have been talking to a friend about raising a couple calves to feed his family)
