Cheap Gas or Green Grass?

What was I thinking? I brought this on myself. However, not one of you took the time to set me straight.
Anyone who paid attention this past winter, knows that Colorado has been in a statewide drought. Personally I have been very concerned about the lack of moisture in our pastures. The grass has not had enough rain or snow to help regenerate the grass and turn the pastures green. We have all been praying for moisture.
Last year had a drought of its own. But again, it didn’t seem all that bad. I was required only once to mow around the house because nothing ws growing. I can’t say that not needing to mow was a bad thing. Actually I liked it.
This year is diffferent. The drought continues but we have had just enough late spring rain to start growth. At this point all those prayers for rain seem to be working. What was I thinking? It was really nice not mowing last year. I’m already needing to mow this year. Compounding the need to mow this year is the realization that I am older than I was last year. It’s only one year, but still I”m older.
Last year I had Boy Twin to help me. This year Boy Twin is in North Dakota working in the oil fields. I personally can’t name one person that is concerned about my mowing, when compared to your need for cheap gasoline. What are we thinking? Oh, I fell for it also. Drill, baby, drill, sounded pretty good until I remembered I have no one to help mow.
I like cheap gasoline also, but frankly all this praying for moisture is just a little selfish without thinking about the total effect it has on me.
God Bless, Love ya, No more rain
Our crazy lives!
