Itsy Bitsy Spider

It was a little more than five years ago, I discovered what looked like a tiny spider on my neck, under my chin, very near to what was my goat-tee. I guess I should have realized it wasn't a spider, because it didn't move. It just sat there, day after day. It didn't move, it didn't hurt, I didn't pay attention to it unless I was shaving around my goat-tee.

At an unrelated doctor's appointment, I asked the physician's assistant if she had any idea why I had a non-moving spider on my neck. She told me it definitely wasn't a spider, but maybe I had better have a specialist look at it. She sent me a dermatologist with a specialty in neck spiders. I might have just dreamed he was a neck spider specialist, but it was a long time ago and my memory is not as great as it once was.

After probing and actually removing the spider and sending it to the lab, the neck spider specialist was able to determine exactly what the spider was. It was a slow moving, skin cancer spider that needed to be removed. I thought that things would be okay, as the specialist had removed the spider and sent it to the lab.

Nope, turns out the spider had really long legs and had let them grow into my neck. The specialist informed me he would need to dig out the legs, which was no big deal, except he needed to dig a hole in my neck the size of a fifty-cent piece. It's since healed just fine.

Since that time, I have had yearly appointments with the specialist looking for spiders. We found one, but this one was hiding on my forehead and didn't look anything like a spider. Tuesday we are going to dig legs out of my forehead. Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you.

God bless, Love ya, see your specialists.

Our crazy lives!
