Maybe I Spoke too Soon

When I write these stories, I have always tried to keep them factual based on truths as I see them. Recently I have written two stories that maybe need to be amended.
The first story to be amended is a few I wrote last spring. The premise of the story was whether it made financial sense to purchase a mower to mow the weeds and grass around our house. Too keep you from needing to go back and read the story, I was debating what to buy, if anything, to mow around the house. As you might recall this past spring was the first spring in many years, we received enough rain to actually require the need for mowing. I decided not to buy anything until next spring hoping we would be back in a drought year. I just don't like spending money on things I am not sure I need.
A few weeks back, I was shopping at a big box hardware store when I noticed handwritten signs calling for the clearance of all mowers, even the mower I considered last spring. The store lowered the price over nine hundred dollars. Not even a nine hundred dollar saving could get me to buy the mower.
I went home and casually mentioned the clearance sale to Elaine. She thought it was a good idea to buy the mower. I still wasn't sure, so I decided to purchase the mower with my credit card and take the mower back if I finally decided I really didn't want the mower. As you well know finance charges on the credit card would eat up more than money saved buying the clearance mower.
Two days later and leaning towards taking the mower back, I/we received a coupon in the mail. The coupon stated the big box store would give twenty-four months of zero percent interest for qualifying purchases, like a mower. I had already made the purchase. This mower was going back! Turns out I didn't need to bring it back. The big box store back dated the date of the sale and gave me the zero interest the purchase. I own a mower. I hope it rains next spring.
The next story I am amending I wrote just a few weeks ago. That said the story actually has its beginning some twenty years ago. It is the story of my daughter finding a baby bear on our deck. I had mentioned in the story that almost all of our neighbors had a bear or two on their property, I've seen them. But we have not had bear activity on our property since the baby on the deck.
Friday night, Boy Twin's significant other noticed something moving outside our house. She said there is a deer outside the window. Boy twin grabbed a flashlight and went outside. There was in fact deer outside our window and yogi the bear was with them. All of the animals ran when Boy Twin lit up the yard. I don't know what Yogi and his friends had in mind, but I went outside and rolled up the car windows.
God bless, Love ya, research before you speak.
Our crazy lives!

I have read both of your stories, and each of the stories has a different story of inspiring me, and yes, both of the stories have to be amended. I'm a writer of educational illustration, and I get a lot of things which is very important while writing a story or any topic. Thank you for sharing such amazing stories with us.
