New Task

Gordon (white-faced puppy/dog) has taken it upon himself to make sure I have a new task to start the morning. It's only fair that I include Elaine in this story because is involved completion of the task. The only difference between Elaine's participation and mine is that Elaine still likes Gordon when we have completed the task.

I can't say that I couldn't see this task coming and there is a certain amount of procrastination that is responsible.

Starting at the beginning, Elaine and I have always had dogs while living here. We have always had a dog pen that none of our previous dogs had any interest in leaving the dog pen without a human escort. Until we bought Gordon. Not even Goose (Gordon's black-faced brother) will leave the dog pen without an escort.

Gordon will stay in his/the pen unless he can see a herd of deer, the neighbor's dogs or cows a butterfly or the UPS/Fed Ex guy.

Too make this story short, because it takes a long time to write this (construction language), I will tell you after considerable conversation with Elaine, we decided to build a new taller dog pen that Gordon could not jump.

Elaine and I "employed" Boy twin to build the new pen. I use the word "employ" loosely, because we just ask Boy Twin for help, take him to dinner and things usually get done. Boy Twin and his friend built a taller dog pen just outside the shorter dog pen,

Here's the procrastination part. We have not taken down the shorter dog pen. Gordon still jumps the short fence every morning after seeing the deer. I have asked the deer to stay away but they just laugh and tease Gordon. Godon gets himself stuck between the short old dog pen fence and taller new dog pen fence. The fences are too close to each other for Gordon to have room to jump or climb back out.

Elaine and I are tasked to remove him from between the two fences. (Looks like EVERY morning.) The difference between Elaine and I, is Elaine still "loves" him. Me? Not so much.

God Bless, Love Ya (not Gordon). Don't procrastinate, call Boy Twin

Our crazy lives!
