Not a Bad Week

August is a bittersweet month for me. Things good or bad happen for me in August. My birthday is in August. I was married in August. I drove my 1968 Chevelle of a cliff in August. School usually started in August. Elaine and I were camping during the Big Thompson Flood in August. August is the end of summer.
So far, this August has been sweet, except for Elaine breaking her tibia when the dogs crashed into her legs. this mishap actually happened in July, but she didn't see a doctor until August. We met with a flooring contractor to replace all the flooring on the first floor. We met with a contractor to replace our exterior doors. these were things a younger version of myself would have been able to do. The best thing is that this older version of myself won't be doing these jobs.
Our wedding anniversary was this past week. We were able to celebrate the event, not on the actual day, but in the actual week. Not with our children, but they did acknowledge we had an anniversary. One child was attending a wedding in Aspen, one child was boating in Nebraska, one child called to congratulate us.
Elaine found a restaurant that served crab legs, which is how she wanted to celebrate our anniversary, I was glad the kids had previous engagement just in case I would need to buy them crab legs.
It has been raining every day, not a lot. Just enough to make me come back inside. Oh well, guys my age need lots of rest. I'm
not ready for the end of summer. Actually, I'm not ready for the start of fall. Elaine says she is ready for cooler temperatures, which I find strange because every time I look at her, she is in a sweater or wrapped in a blanket
I'm going to ride out the rest of the month before I decide if August is good or bad, but so far I like it.
Our crazy lives!
Monner
