P-Nome-e-a

I am going to be thankful when the calendar switches to 2026. I spent two days and two nights, back in the hospital, fighting a disease I thought only my dad could get. Dad smoked most of his life. When he reached halfway into his golden years, he switched from cigarettes to nicotine gum. Unfortunately, for him he was very susceptible to every lung condition a smoker usually gets, even the ones he could not pronounce, like P-Nome-e-a.

I was never a smoker. I never had concerns about catching P-Nome-e-a or pneumonia. Well, as luck would have it in 2025, I caught one of Dad's diseases. I have been short of breath walking across our yard. With the wind blowing as hard as it has, it's has not been surprising that it takes your breath away walking in the wind. I must admit I became a little concerned when I need to stop and rest climbing the stairs in our house. This past Monday, I did not have the strength to climb the stairs to the master suite. I asked Elaine to take me to the hospital.

X-Rays, EKG's, fluid restrictions, two days of complete boredom, loss of hearing, but we stopped P-Nome-e-a before it could make my problem worse. I need to finish the year and move on.

God bless, Love ya, pray for a new year

Our crazy lives!
