Rain, Rain, go Away

My world is upside down. By this time last year our pastures were drying up and turning brown. I was forced to buy supplemental feed for the livestock. This year we have had SO MUCH rain the pastures are green, the grass is long and plentiful. I have no livestock. Yep, I sold it all. I have nothing to eat the FREE grass that is eighteen inches high.
That said I didn't realize how nice it was with the drought last year. I didn't need to mow around the house simply because the grass didn't grow. We need to keep the grass short around the house to eliminate rattlesnake hiding places. It been years since we've seen one, but they have been here.

I didn't start the mower even one time last year. That was really nice. This year is going to be different, once I get to mow, it might be an, all summer job. I say once I get to mow, because it has been raining everyday making it too wet to mow.
Elaine and I removed the carpet in our house shortly after moving here. We installed luxury vinyl tile (there was nothing luxury about it) on the entire first floor. We don't have nice concrete sidewalks and asphalt paving. What we have is dirt, muddy dirt, and two dogs. Each and every time the dogs go in and out of the house, they bring in mud on their feet. Our luxury vinyl tile looks like the floor of Abe Lincoln's cabin.
I'm sure the rain will stop someday, as a matter a fact it didn't rain yesterday, the wind blew. Today? Rain. Oh well, I think I'll make Elaine take me to brunch.
God Bless, Love ya, Mow when you can
Our crazy lives!
