Sun's Up

I've always been an early riser. I can't say why, but I think it's hereditary. My grandfather told stories about being up before the sun doing chores on the farm. (Hey, now I'm telling stories!) I can honestly say that as a child that my mom was ALWAYS up before me, even when I delivered newspapers in the mornings. She NEVER slept in.

Now that I'm retired, I thought I would enjoy sleeping in. Nope, can't do it. Too many dogs, rabbits, foxes, and deer.

This is how it works at our house. The sun starts comes up and the dogs run to the windows to see if we have rabbits in our yard. Elaine works from our house. She can wake up at 7:20 AM and be at work at 7:30 AM. The dogs see rabbits (and an occasional fox or deer) and start barking. Elaine doesn't need to get up and in fairness she is the one with a job. Ol' Monner needs to try to calm the dogs. I can't sleep in if I wanted.

Grandpa never mentioned getting up because the dogs were barking. I don't know what woke Mom. I guess thinking about it now, I would like to know.

Being honest, I don't know if I would or could sleep late, but as long as there are rabbits, we will never know.

.

God Bless, Love ya, get some sleep.

Our crazy lives!
