The February 2nd Funk

I’m a little depressed and with good reason.  I got up this morning let the dogs out, sat down turned on the television to a news channel, waiting for the dogs to want back in the house.

I immediately fell into a funk; okay I was already in a funk but what I saw made me funkier.  I was watching a group of men in black suits and top hats holding a rat.  These men were discussing the likelihood that this rat could predict the weather.  Not only could the rat predict the weather, it predicted six more weeks of winter.

Speaking only for myself, I don’t want any more winter, let alone six more weeks.  Here in Northern Colorado we have had a winter to get over and forget.  Only two small snowstorms and wind, plenty of wind.  Even on days when the wind is not blowing, the wind is blowing just not as hard.

Now we have a rat approximately two thousand miles away telling me to expect six months more of winter.

Who would put a rat in charge of weather?  This is exactly why in Northern Colorado, we set traps and poison for rats.  We don’t put on special suits and hats and put rats in charge of weather.  However, we do watch the festivities on early morning television if we are “enjoying” Colorado weather and we want to fall deeper in a funk.  Weather is not the only “funk” driver.

I’m back in the care of the medical profession.  Seems I don’t have enough iron in my blood.  We (the doctor’s and I) are looking for a cause.  In the meantime, I am licking flagpoles, sucking on rusty nails, screws and washers.  None of them are very tasty, but they are tolerable with a little ranch dressing.

God Bless, Love ya, pray for spring

Our crazy lives!
