Driving Home

Man, this time change stuff is killing me. It is not really the time change; it is the position of the sun at certain times of the day.

Elaine arranges her workday by being able to communicate with engineers literally, from around the world. Seriously, it is not uncommon for Elaine to speak with electrical engineers in Europe, the west coast of America, Canada, during her workday. She schedules the hours that she works based on her ability to speak with her workmates.

What does this have to do with the position of the sun at certain times of the day? Nothing. You can probably guess that the position of the sun, no matter what time of the year, hasn't anything to do with Elaine's workday. If her office is too dark, she can turn on a light. If her office is too bright, she can close the curtains. She doesn't care where the sun is, I do.

But this is where it involves Elaine. I try to match my day to Elaine's. While she's working, I'm running errands and working on my tasks. Here comes the sun.

Elaine's workday usually is over about when the sun is setting on the western horizon, which is usually the same time I am returning from town. The road is curvy and travels uphill. There are several curves in the road that cause the sun to shine directly in my eyes when I round the curve. This did not happen before the recent time change.

I'm not sure who is responsible for this condition. but it is quite dangerous. I have literally driven off the side of the road because the sun is so bright and shining my eyes. I realize I could have parked my truck and let the sun set a little bit. But I wanted to be home with Elaine. Or I could do what I did and drove back on the road and just squinted my eyes a little tighter.

As you can tell, I am a problem solver, and none of this is my fault. This is a problem caused by the time change people, Elaine's work schedule and even Elaine herself. Thank God, this is not a problem for most of the year.

God bless, Love ya, sometimes sunglasses are not enough.

Our crazy lives!
