The Story Goes On and Goose Showing Promise
If you follow my stories you might be wondering what ever happened with my back problem. Well, I took a step in what has become a long journey. After waiting five weeks to schedule an appointment with a spine specialist, I was able to meet with him.
I arrived at 2:15 for my scheduled 2:30 appointment. I arrived early to handle all the beervirus questions. "Have you been out of the country?" Have you had the sniffles in the last 14 days?" And my favorite non-beervirus question. "Do you want to hurt yourself or others?' How do they know that?
After the short Q/A secession, I was sent to a small examination room. I noticed posters of skeletons on the wall, a chair, and a padded bench. The room had no windows, but several cabinets, and a screen for reading x-rays mounted on the wall.
A medical assistant said "I'll tell the doctor you are here. He will be in shortly" She closed the door behind her and left me alone. People have told me I have a short attention span. After waiting twenty minutes alone in the room I started asking myself questions about the the room I was in. "Why are there no magazines?' I resolved that question by guessing I was supposed to bring my phone into the room. Ten more minutes. "Did she lock the door?" " I am in too much pain to knock the door down. I'm trapped in here". Ten more minutes. "I wonder what's in the cabinets?" Don't do it, Monner, you are going to get caught." Ten more minutes. There is nothing in the cabinets that could be used to pick a lock.
The doctor arrived. "Sorry, I'm late. The patient before had some complications" I told him it was no big deal. I hope they don't fingerprint the room.
Doc: The MRI shows what the x-rays showed. We could try cortisone shots, but you will be back in here.
Me: Let's go another route.
Doc: I'd like to do you tomorrow. Let's go talk to Melody.
My conversation with Melody didn't make me all that happy. She started with "Would you mind waiting in the waiting room. I'm helping another patient right now."
Melody: It looks like we can schedule you on September 24th.
Me: That's over a month away
Melody: By the time we get insurance clearance, schedule operating rooms, have pre-op appointments that's the earliest time.
On a lighter note, Goose, (Black-faced puppy) chased a fox this past week. Elaine (elderly Caucasian women) yelled for Goose to come home before Gordon, (white-faced puppy could join the chase. It would have been a better story if Elaine would have stayed out of it.
God Bless, Love ya, Buy Knitting stuff.
